What is LPG?

LPG energy (Liquefied Petroleum Gas or Liquid Petroleum Gas) is a mixture of butane and propane, which is produced during oil refining or is extracted during the natural gas production process.

As an energy source, LPG has virtual absence of sulphur as well as a high caloric value, allowing not only for a high level of heat to be produced over a shorter period of time, but this also allows for cleaner burning.

LPG thus provides a cleaner, economical, safer and more efficient way to cook, heat or transport your energy source.

HOW TO GET IT

Our bottled Afrox LP cooking and heating gas cylinders are available in 5kg, 6kg, 9kg, 14kg, 19kg and 48kg cylinders.

Our friendly Wisdom Gas staff will ensure a fast and seamless process upon your arrival so you can just sit back whilst we unload your empty cylinders, reload your new LP gas cylinders, getting you back on the road before you know it.

However, should you not be able to collect, give us a call and we’ll arrange delivery at an additional fee.

We believe that the affordable collect option remains the best cost alternative for LPG users across the demand chain.

For this reason our "direct from factory" option which allows all customers to enjoy various payment options, while our teams are ready to load/offload cylinders at your convenience.

While collect may seem time consuming, we are here to serve, and ensure a quicker in/out than you would experience at your local service station – and the savings will be worth it!

Safety gas 5kg

The Safety gas cylinder is available at a refundable deposit of R650 + VAT.

The cylinder is available to those consumers that are specifically focused on affordability – and to switch from less environmentally friendly and healthy options such as paraffin, coal and wood.

Considering that a similar cylinder at your local hardware will cost around R800.00 per cylinder, the Safety gas 5kg offer is sure to become a market leader. These will also be available direct to consumers from our collect offer/option.

If your cylinder is returned within 10 days of purchase and the cylinder remains full, a no charge replacement will be offered!

Safety and precautionary measures

  • Only purchase Afrox branded cylinders with the red seal of safety
  • Transport your cylinder upright and not on its side
  • Use the gas in a well ventilated area
  • Be sure to frequently smell for gas leaks

Important to note: Illegal filling, including transfilling, compromises safety and can result in damage, injury, and even loss of life.
